I'd like to know about the shear reinforcement provided inside the beam? what is the purpose?
Shear reinforcement is provided in the beam to prevent the diagonal tension cracks when the beam is under loading. As it is difficult provide inclined Stirrups to prevent those diagonal cracks they are provided in the form of vertical Stirrups.- Siddhesh Sawant
