Brick wall crack repair

Pls suggest how to repair when the crack in brick masonry is large like 1inch

Properly chisel crack area a few inches deeper and patch with slight mortar. Then cut metal mesh of same crack area size and put it in the crack area. After you patch the area completely and plaster.
