I'm with a elastomeric bearing design. To design this I need some design criteria: Live Loads, Dead Loads, Translations, Rotation due live load and rotation due dead loads. I can use a software to compute and obtain the design criteria, but I want to know how to obtain the design criteria without software..
I'm already know how to calculate live loads, dead loads, rotation and translation due temperature, shrinkage, creep, etc. But I don't know how to calculate the translation (or horizontal movement) due live loads.
Do anybody can tell me how can I calculate the translations due live loads? I need some reference, book, bridge example, etc to see the procedure.
