How much Indain WC required space for plumbing?
Which trap we used in Indain WC what is the requirements of these trap and how to installed these trap in WC?

An Indian WC requires about 4 feet x 3 feet space.

Firstly let’s understand what is trap?
Trap is a bend in the pipe where the waste goes out of the toilet. It retains some water after flushing causing a seal and preventing sewer gases from entering the building.

There are 2 types of trap S-Trap & P-trap.

For a wall mounted toilet/commode P-Trap needs to be fitted and for floor mounted toilet/commode S-trap pipe is fitted.

After toilet waterproofing is completed the plumber will first fix the P or S trap on the floor and secure it in place with help of cement mortar.

After wards the Indian toilet pan is laid over the P or S trap so that the hole of the IWC rests over the hole of the P or S trap, cement mortar is used again to seal the gap if any so that no water will spill off from this joint.

The IWC is kept in position using temporary supports using bricks and then entire balance area is filled with brickbats and cement mortar so that the space is filled up.

Prior to filling even the flushing pipe is connected to the IWC inlet.

Once that is done then the upper portion is finished rough with cement mortar so as to enable fixing of floor tiles.

Once this is done then opening in the IWC is packed with gunny bag and sand is filled in the pan and the top most foot rest is then embedded in POP so that no damage occurs to the pan during construction phase.
