hydraulic Buffer Stop Problem

A hydraulic buffer stop has a cylinder 250mm in diameter and operates by forcing water through a 50mm diameter orifice for which coefficient of discharge is 0.7. The discharge may be assumed to be against atmospheric pressure.
The buffer is used to arrest the motion of trucks, of mass 40 metric tonnes, which strike it at 6m/s. Ignoring effect of friction, determine time and distance travelled by piston in reducing velocity of trucks to 20 percent of initial velocity?
