For the nominal pitch of the shear stirrups, the code provision is followed. In India, IS: 456 and IS:13920 are followed for normal and earthquake resistant structures: As specified in IS: 456, the maximum spacing shall not exceed 0.75d for vertical stirrups and d for stirrups inclined at 45 degrees where d is the effective depth of the beam. In no case the spacing shall exceed to 300 mm. As per IS 13920 the hoop spacing shall be less than or equal to d/4 or 8d where d is the minimum dimension of the beam member.
I hope this is sufficient.

Please refer relevant IS codes (IS: 456 and IS 13920) wherein guidelines regarding spacing are given. The spacing for nominal reinforcement shall be equal to 0.75d for vertical stirrups and d for stirrups inclined at 45 degrees. d = effective depth of the section. The maximum spacing shall not exceed 300 mm in any case. As per IS:13920 the spacing of confinement reinforcement shall be less than or equal to d/4 or 8db where d is the overall depth of the section and db is the diameter of the longitudinal bar. Refer the codes for more details.
