long distance Concrete

Kindly share experience or guidelines for long distance concreting (transportation and placement )

The retention will depend on how we have designed the concrete. Which type of admixture has been used. As long as we are getting the required slump without adding extra water it should not be a problem. At marine projects where we transport concrete in barges we have designed concrete even for 8 hr retention.

As rightly said by @pradip.kumar1 for long distance and longer period concrete, admixture plays very important role for retention of workablity.

As i never done that, i do not know much about better admixtures and guidelines for doing it.

But mostly everything can get handled by using best quality admixtures in high range PCE base according to required retention period.
