Curing is a way of retaining moisture / water which is present in concrete during process of hydration.
If moisture is not allowed to escape out from concrete surface, the member is treated as well cured.
Keeping a forms in place do actually help concrete in gaining strength without losses of moisture.
Do ensure you cure the top of the concrete or exposed concrete surface which is not covered with shutter by pouring water (in case of columns, it is the top surface which is not covered by shutter)
