Siporex blocks suitable for waterproofing work , please suggest

You can definitely use it however it won't be economical as compared to brickbat or bricks.

Secondly, bricks/or brickbats are never actually doing the purpose of waterproofing, it's only a filler media for slope and added advantage being heat insulation.

If prior planning is done considering siporex as filler media in terrace waterproofing then the RCC design can be optimized resulting in cost savings.

Further please see the area of application, it cannot be used on trafficable slabs where vehicular movements are there. For foot movement or human traffic, it can definitely be used.

Please use admixtures like Sunplex from Sunanda Chemicals or Waterseal from Krishna Conchem for the mortar being used in coba and top coat. This will enhance the mortars waterproofing quality.

We have used siporex blocks for waterproofing successfully. And very well explained above
