Can any one explain the reason for the crack on the boundary wall?

may be due to no expension joint

Normally for compound walls less importance is given towards foundation and hence one of the reason could be settlement of soil
Also expansion joints are required to be given at a spacing of not more than 30mtr

The reason for the crack in the compound wall is due to the following:

1. Its only a compound and not a retaining wall and hence cannot take the lateral forces which are acting due to the soil on the other side of the compound wall. ( if it was designed as a retaining wall and also if weep holes were provided then this incident wouldn't have occurred)
2. The compound wall is lacking in an adequate foundation which also may have lead to the partial settlement of soil leading to the cracking.
