Concrete is pumped by the force applied by the piston in the hopper. more the diameter more will be efforts and you need to bring a huge machine to create force and which will lead to higher fuel or electricity consumption. (100cc bike Vs 1000cc Car)
Lower you go, it may create resistance in pipe due to aggregates accumulation, which will create more pressure and pumping may not happen.
