Autoclave application in Civil Engineering is to Steam Cure the cement products under pressure and at high temperatures up to 185 degrees.

The auto claving is achieved by using boilers as the process goes from say 12 hours to 20 hours with control riseand drop in temperature and pressure steam.

Boilers comes under the mechanical engineering IS Codes.

You can refer the specs of boiler for creating a room.

I am not aware about such rooms as maintaining pressures is difficult task unless it is completely closed and do not have any chance for leakages.

Thanks for your reply.
I am going to construct one room for R & D lab this room will accommodate about five small stainless steel autoclaves for R & D experiments (Chemical).
This autoclaves are being operated on high pressure and temperature.
My requirement is what type of structure we should construct for safe operation, is there any IS code for such room.
What type of walls, roof, door windows, drain, exhaust etc.
what precaution we have to take for adjacent buildings etc.

When a boiler is kept in any room, that room becomes boiler room.

So find the requirement for boiler room in Fire Safety, Mechanical or any codal provision you can get on it.
