Carborundum stone finish for walls and columns

a) After removal of forms attend to all patching and pointing works including removal of fins, repairing honeycombs , dressing offsets and bulges.

b) Prepare a mortar having a thick, creamy consistency using one part of cement (light colored cement or cement made light by mixing with white cement ) to two parts by volume of sand passing through 1.18 mm IS sieve.

c) Spread the mortar evenly over the surface using a clean sack and rub lightly using a rough carborundum stone, working over the entire area thoroughly.

d) Leave a thickness of mortar of about 0.8 mm to provide a proper finish over the area.

e) Keep the surface continuously damp with light fog spray for 7 days.
