To calculate the total cost for construction of house, you need to do following
Make plan for your dream house and get it completely detailed from Architect or you can draw it yourself if you are good with drafting software or doing drawing.
Once you finalize the Aspects of your home, you need to get the design of structure done from Structural designer / consultant or you can do it on your own if know how to do it.
Once you have the Architectural and Structural Plans ready with you, Do finalize the materials which you wish to use inside your home (base on budget you can finalize the materials)
Calculate the Quantities of material required from Architectural drawing dimensions for all finishing works like floor tiling, plaster , dado, painting etc.
Do calculate the reinforcement and concrete quantity required from structural drawing.
Calculating the quantity is easiest it will be either length or length x width or length x width x height.
Once you had all calculated quantities and selected material rates you can proceed further for finalizing contractors to do work for each activity.
Sum up all the cost and you will arrive at a total cost required for construction.
You can adjust the cost in items of luxury by compromising with some aspects, never compromise on structural aspect.
