How to determine the L, H, W column base tip,?

I need to know, how to determine the length, height, width in column base tip, and how to determine column position of two stroyed house, normal house(only ground-floor), apartment building,???

I don't know enything about design, that why i ask u,

Column height(length) depends on architectural drawing (i.e. height of floor) and for structural design the effective length will be calculated as per IS 456 .Col width will be kept normally same as width of wall for low rise building & column depth(size ) will depends on its position in plan , Load acting on it ,whether it is axial loaded,uni axial loaded or bi axial loaded moments coming on column etc Consideration for slenderness as per IS 456 is also required.their are so may other factors such as sway /non sway ,eccentricity ,grade of concrete,steel provided etc Pl refer any standard RCC Design text book if you are an civil Engineer
