AutoCAD is the tool used for quantity surveying. Study of quantity survey without knowledge of AutoCAD is incomplete.

See brother,
there is a broader scope for QS in civil engineering and as i know there are no special courses for QS untill and unless you know the basics. the things you must be thorough with is:
1. Good use of AutoCad commands
2. Analytical study of drawings
3. use of MS excel and some basic mathematic formula

if you can get these, then the job becomes easy and while working you will get much more knowledge along with the technical knowledge
