PLC is program logic control system, which is like a brain which process the data which it gets and command the operations of any mechanically operated plants.

The PLC has main program set in it and as per the inputs given to the computer for doing production, PLC controls the operations with high accuracy.

Say you wish to load x amount of material in each batch. PLC will get the inputs from operator about how many batches to load and amount of material in each batch, here x is an example value.

PLC is also given the factors like when get opens how much material get sensed on weight scales and how much will be in air to command for closing of the gate.

The PLC then calculate the final amount which got and is it within tolerance limit or not. if got in tolerance limit, it will complete that batch and for next batch it will set the amount to be taken i.e. - x amount +/- variation from previous batch. it keeps doing till completion.

The PLC does handling of all material in same way to give high accuracy as per set parameters to it for working and does the work restlessly till the program is end at completion.

PLC's are used in almost all equipement's which are controlled electronically for there operations.
