Hold Fasts are used to keep door and window frames tight to walls

Hold fasts are used to fixed Door or window frames to the Walls.
In case of Doors The minimum hold fasts are 6 i.e. Three numbers on each side.
In case of windows The minimum hold fasts are 4 i.e. Two numbers on each side.

Holdfast is a member which project from the body of door or window frame which holds the window or door frame in walls.

Holdfasts are useful when the window and door frames are installed in place at the time of brickwork or blockwork, as those holdfast need to be anchored in wall.

If we do a brickwork or blockwork first by keeping opening for doors and windows in wall. we can fix the frame in position with the help of anchor fasteners which work same as a hold fast.

Hold fasts are nothing but anchor fastners for doors and windows which are fixed during wall construction. Once wall is built and plastering is done, we can use hilti or fissure or any standard make fastners to fix doors and windows
