Slab concrete top level should be maintained within + / - 5 mm as its a structural element.
Higher the level difference, it will increase the dead loads on floor and reduce the clear height of floor.

40mm is not at acceptable, all finish level get affected ul have only 10mm clearance for finish ,it is happened at one place it not be problem ,only concrete thickness increased .if suppose floor level is increased by 40mm other floor will also will get affected....ensure level meter marking on columns, it will be useful and also use auto level while doing concreting so that u can check levels or u can use gauge pieces....
