why we use black japan for footing surface?

the reason behind applying ipoxy(black japan) on the foundation surface is to protect against termite attack as well as to prevent water seepage in the foundation which might create corrosion in reinforcement.application of epoxy not only restricted to foundation.it has to be applied all concrete surface which is in direct contact with soil which means colours,plinth beam ETC for a better results
