Waterproofing is done to avoid water leakages and ensure water tight floor, if proper checking not done during waterproofing it may cause serious trouble to the home owner and also damage the structure.
Engineer should inspect this work and record the work in checklist.
Checklist of Brick Bat Waterproofing Works consist of following checkpoints in it;
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BEFORE BASE COAT
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED DURING BASE COAT
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BEFORE BRICKBAT COBA
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED DURING BRICK-BAT COBA
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED FOR FINAL COAT

Checklist of Brick Bat Waterproofing Works consist of following checkpoints in it;
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BEFORE BASE COAT
- All surfaces to be applied are cleaned by chipping /removing of excess mortar /loose material by using wire brush
- Sufficient hacking done to all vertical surfaces to be applied.
- Leakages at sunk checked by water ponding
- In case of major leakage ,gravity grouting or pressure grouting done
- Metal packing done at all required joints and corners
- Grouting checked by ponding (if OK then proceed otherwise repeat process)
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED DURING BASE COAT
- Approved waterproofing admixture brand/make and proportion( ml/bag)
- Specified cement mortar proportion mixed in farma
- Thrash coat applied to vertical surfaces up to a required height
- Base coat applied to floors and vertical surfaces up to thrash coat
- Ponding of base coat done for min. 4 days and leakage tested
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BEFORE BRICKBAT COBA
- Floor traps and other plumbing lines installed in masonry after base-coat as per drawings and with approved slope
- Checking of joints of plumbing / drainage lines for leakages done
- Encasing drain pipe joints by concreting
- PVC pipe surface roughened to achieve bonding of material at plumbing gabdis
- Grouting done at plumbing gabdis and finished neatly
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED DURING BRICK-BAT COBA
- Over burnt bricks and under burnt bricks avoided
- Brick-bat coba carried out to required slope (use full bricks or 3/4th bricks )
- Curing of brick-bat for 4 days
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED FOR FINAL COAT
- Thiyas of final coat proper (slope checked)
- Final coat (top coat) applied properly
- Offset of final coat with respect to slab kept proper
- Date of final coat displayed on wall
- Curing of final coat for 7 days by ponding
