Work procedure for corner beads

Work procedure for corner beads
  1. Metal corner beads to be fixed before internal plastering to maintain the skirting in level. On all exposed corners, angle bends shall be fixed to provide smooth rounded external angle.
  2. Angle bends shall be initially fixed over plaster dabs in neat cement plaster paste on both sides of the external angle and by pressing the bead into the dabs. Place the straight edge against both sides of the bead to check for straightness and upright. Plumb bob shall also be used to ensure vertical plumb.
  3. The curved edge of the bead should project the finished surface of plaster slightly to form a smooth external curve. After completing the alignment after 48 hours of curing the bead shall be filled with 1:2 cement sand mortar, and cured for 2 days prior to commencing the plaster for these walls.
  4. All tiled corners shall be provided with the proprietary PVC corner strips and tiling started beyond the strip.
