Work Procedure for Filling extra plumbing sleeves

1. Objective:

This work procedure narrates the guidelines to be adopted for casting extra plumbing sleeves left in area under Civil4M Office Project

2. Applicability:

This procedure is applicable to all casting of extra plumbing sleeve holes left in structure.

3. Reference Document:

Product data of Conbextra (Gp-2) of Fosroc Ltd

4. Responsibility:

The Project Manager shall be responsible for the overall implementation of this procedure.

5. Safety Precautions:

Ensure that material handling shall be done in proper manner.

Use of PPE’s like goggles, hand gloves and helmet.

Proper illumination to be provided for working during night.


6. Material’s, Equipment’s and Tools used:

Conbextra Gp-2 pre-packed expandable grout manufactured by Fosroc Ltd, 10 mm down aggregates, clean water, formwork release agent.

Concrete chipping machine or hacking hammer, wire-brush and shuttering ply, bucket water gauging and rod for mixing of paste


7. Procedure:


Surface preparation of inner face of sleeve by hacking and clean with water and wire brush to remove loose material.

Apply form release oil and fix shuttering plywood to cover the sleeve portion from one side keeping sloping haunch on other side for filling of Gp-2 paste.

Required quantity of Gp-2 powder shall be taken in a clean bucket and add 10 mm aggregates 50 % of quantity of powder taken and dry mix thoroughly.

Add water to produce mix of flow-able consistency.

Mix thoroughly in a bucket to get uniform paste of flowable consistency.

Mix only as much quantity that can be consumed in about 30 min.

Flowable paste prepared shall be poured through sloping haunch shutter filling the entire sleeve using manual compaction.

De-shuttering shall be done after 24 hrs. and excess paste in haunch portion if any shall be finished off to match the surface.

Curing for next 3 days by wrapping with wet hessian cloth.
