column lapping

suppose to be M20 grade concrete column, bar dia 20 mm n after casting slab. i got only 800mm lap length for 2 bar by mistake then, what can i do ?

In case of short lap length or laps are not staggered, generally consultant suggest to do lapping by welding of bars.

In your case there are 2 bars having less lap length. Do contact to your structural designer and tell him about dia of bars and short length in mm for lapping of bar along with column number and floor.

They will check the possibilities for acceptance by doing calculation and will let you know.
