Common mistakes by unskilled workmen - Concrete

Workmen , especially if unskilled, may make mistake because of ignorance.

Insist on the following:

Do not allow, to add water without measuring it. Use water dispensers to ensure the correct quantity of water is being added to mix.

Do not permit use of reclaimed cement, aggregate or spilled concrete.

Do not allow, during volume batching , heaping of aggregates in the batch boxes.

Do not permit the practice of working up excess mortar to the surface and finishing it with neat cement.

Do not allow vibration for prolonged periods.

Do not allow workmen to drag the needle vibrator along concrete to move the concrete.
