Concrete Core Test

Concrete core of the same grade of the same member, but have different diameter gives different compressive strength.
And actually the higher diameter concrete gives more strength though it is of same grade as smaller diameter concrete. Can anyone please give the reason or any specification regarding this in any IS

Dear Member ,

Please refer IS Code 516 and SP 24 for your queries to be resolved . In case of higher diameter more than 100 mm the correction factors and Other theoretical values changes to convert them into equivalent cube strength . There are also other various factors depending upon the strength parameters are L/D ratio, Core Extracted Portion is well compacted ,curing done in initial stages , steel cutted down in core , uniform cutting of core , capping with proper capping materials and curing of the same ,uniform loading of core and failure pattern needs to be understood well .

Day before yesterday we have provided with core testing format of academic interests . please find enclosed the same . Kindly go through the same and read more about testing of concrete in hardened stage .
