How moisture correction is done at a RMC batching plant?

As I have generally seen on a RMC batch sheet they show some moisture correction with negative and positive values of amount of materials adjusted in the batch. How do they asses daily how much amount of moisture is present at the time of batching in the aggregates? Or is it just average values that are used to balance the mix everytime?

Dear friend,
It's just the balancing of water in concrete mix. Mostly Fine aggregate absolve the water content from atmosphere though rain, fog or any other way. we already know that in concrete, most important thing is to maintain water cement ratio. Now think if water increased via fine aggregate and we don't know about the qty of water so that means we also don't know the water cement ratio. Also this water will reduce the actual fine aggregate quantity as BP will consider the weight of fine aggregate including water weight. So basically the theory is to calculate the water/ moisture content available in fine aggregate through atmosphere and reduce this quantity from water and add this quantity in fine aggregate. generally moisture correction shall be done on daily basis but it's more important in rainy or foggy weather. frequency of test can be set mutually with owner in these weather but always do the moisture correction after rain.
Further more people in this group will enlighten us in the matter.
