How to do concrete cube casting
¨ Clean the mould, fit it properly and apply oil
¨ Fill the concrete in 3 equal layers
¨ Tamp each layer with 35 strokes by tamping rod
¨ Strokes of above layer should penetrate the bottom layer
¨ Give additional strokes from sides to remove the air bubbles
¨ Level the cube with trowel
¨ After 3 – 4 hours, do smooth finish
¨ Mark the identification (see list)
¨ Note down the cube details for records
¨ Cover the specimen after 5 hours with wet gunny bags
¨ Demould the cube after 24 hours
¨ Keep the cube in the curing tank immediately
