How to increase workability of concrete. without increasing water and admixture ( plasticizer) like shape of aggregate, gradation of sand and aggregate, quality of sand etc.

What is workability
Ease of doing work.

How it is measured
By doing slump test on it.

How workability get increased
Either by addition of water or admixture

Does shape, gradation, Quality of sand affect the workability.
Shape of aggregates - it affect the water demand, more the surface area, more water is required and cement too.
Gradation - it mostly affect the homogeneity of concrete and leads to harsh mix with segregation.
Quality of Sand - It affects the durability and strength of concrete.

If you are doing a mix design, then you know how shape, particle size and quality matters, mix is design accordingly by proportioning the aggregates.

What is mix design of concrete
Making better concrete with available materials

And designing is art not all engineers have.
Having a recipe, you may produce something but it may not be the same.
Knowing how to make recipe can make you a good chef as you know the art of cooking best from whatever available with you.

There is no other option to increase the workability than using water or admixture.

Water addition compromises with water cement ration and lead to weaker concrete.

Adding admixture gives a boost by restricting the reaction of water and cement, hence you have more water in mix which allow it to flow without addition of extra water and same water then use by cement after placing or breaking of admixture films on it for hydration and setting.

Hope this will clear your concepts.
