If the water absorption of tile is 20% then what will happen in future after installation of tiles?

Nothing will happen to tiles till the time, when there is no water contact from the back of the tile.
If there is continuous water contact from back of the tile, the biscuit / fired clay which is on the back of the glaze, will get saturated and the elastic behavior of whole tile gets changed.
It can exhibit the discoloration and water stain on the tile surface which cannot be cleaned as its coming from inside of it.
From the home owner point of view it will look very ugly.
