I have a problem of a client of mine. TMT Steel is being supplied to them and are looking for mtc from us. there is some number marking on each bar of each dia supplied. I wish to know if the number mentioned on the bars is the same as Heat No/Cast No. mentioned on the mtc. Or if there is any other method to identify the bar supplied to the client with the mtc.

I hope you have got the answer for the query posted by you.

The number mentioned on the each bars are diameter of the bars and some manufacturer do stamp the number code which helps in identifying the factory unit from which it was manufactured. as the steel is pass through a roller to form a shape in a very hot condition, the die used will have the fix set of marks on it.
