Ceramic tiles are classified as per the water absorption they have

B I - it have less than 3 % water absorption
B IIa - it have 3 to 6 % water absorption
B IIb - it have 6 to 10% water absorption
B III - it have water absorption capacity more than 10%

Lower the absorption capacity, higher the quality of clay as it have less voids in it to accommodate water.
