Round aggregates due to its ball bearing effect enhances the property of workability of concrete but may fail on mechanical interlocking and bond strength.

Angular aggregates due to its shape may reduce the workability but due to its interlocking bonds will be superior in comparison with rounded aggregates.

Due to admixtures, the workability can be modified, so angular aggregates are more preferred.
