Aluminium Sliding Window Works

Aluminium window work is one of the most important work which is visible to all and it have good aesthetic values, if not executed correctly, it spoils the impression of company and make a bad impression on customers.
Checklist of Aluminium Sliding Window Works consist of following checkpoints in it;

Procedures to be followed before fixing
  • Material checked as specified (variation in wt. not more than +/-10%)
  • Necessary drawing showing details of AC ,exhaust fan, mosquito net location, aluminium sections available
  • Gypsum, Plaster, Tiling and jambs of windows completed to satisfaction(plumb, level, line, plain)
  • Window sill outside of Aluminium frame given outward slope

Procedures to be followed during fixing
  • Horizontal and vertical members joined at 45º and joint kept hairline
  • Tracks checked for numbers and defects
  • Distance of frame from corner of jambs checked (before fixing)
  • Holes drilled in bottom member for fixing screws as specified ( for reference; approximately 300mmc/c for bottom and for sides / top members at 450 mmc/c )
  • Shutters checked for sizes, straightness, diagonal distances and plumb (shutter should be exactly rectangle or square)
  • Anodizing/ Powder coating checked for color, thickness and scratches
  • PVC gasket, Wool pile packing checked for air tightness after fixing
  • Glass shade and thickness as per specification
  • Glass sizes checked and roller bearings fixed as specified (min.2 bearings per shutter)
  • Hardware fittings such as locks, handles, screws, pivots of approved make(as specified)
  • Drain holes minimum 2 nos. per shutter at the bottom track for easy draining of water outside

Procedures to be followed after fixing of aluminium windows
  • Aluminium sections covered with masking tape after installation
  • Gaps between sections and plaster(externally ) filled with sealant of matching color
  • Gaps between sections and plaster(internally) filled with putty (or recommended material)
  • Window frame bottom cleaned with air blower
  • Shutters after closing checked for air tightness (smooth operation without rattling noise)
  • Bottom track checked for proper draining of water
