1 in 200 means there is a slope of 1m in 200m or 1 feet in 200 feet.

In order to calculate and give the slope of 1 in 200, you need to first measure the length of the path / terrain or for whatever you are trying to implement it.

For example you need to give a slope of 1 in 200 meter for a patch of 10 meter which have filling which starts from 0 and goes to 10 meter with a slope of 1 in 200.

So to make the fill in slope with 0 at first end and 1 in 200 at another end at 10 meter, you need to calculate the gradual fill increase and at the end height of the fill.

1 meter at 200 and ? at 10 meter

this will become an equation like

1/ 200 = x / 10

so x = 10 /200

so the height which will increase gradually to the end of the patch of 10 meter is = 10 /200 = 0.05 meter = 50 mm which is the desired slope to be given at 10 meter as per 1 in 200

You can use your preferred measurement unit and this can be apply to all kind of slope you wish to give either by doing filling in road or cutting.

Also can be used for giving slope in flooring, drainage line etc.

When using auto level, first need to record the reduce level of point 0 from where the sloping in up or bottom need to be start.

then as per the slope calculation take the level pads at various distances like at every 10 meter or so depending on your work size.

then with the help of other means do fill or cut or do other works as per the base pads to match the levels and get the desired slope of 1 in 200.
