How can we joint the higher grades of concrete structures in retaining wall

When there are two grades are mentioned for construction of Retaining wall, the clear line of grade separation is also indicated on it.

In construction sometimes it can happen that, the footings of column may get merged into the footing of retaining wall, in case where both the concrete have different grades, the higher grade of concrete is put into structure at the location where merger happened.

Say footing of column have M25 and footing of retaining wall have M20, so the concrete in merger area should be of M25.

The retaining wall also might have designed for two grades of concrete where, higher grade is in footing and lower grade of concrete is in wall.

Practically when there are two grades of concrete shown and clear line is not defined, higher grade of concrete is used in that particular locations.
