What should we do when temperature exceed 37 C? For pumpable concrete

Any temperature between 5°C to 40°C would be suitable for concreting.Concreting at temperature (<5°C) will be termed as cold weather concreting and IS 7861-2: Code of practice for extreme weather concreting, Part 2: Recommended practice for cold weather concreting : Concreting at temperature (>40°C) can be termed as hot weather concreting andIS 7861-1: Code of practice for extreme weather concreting, Part 1: Recommended practice for hot weather concreting

This the correct answer please note

For hot weather concreting, standard temperature for hot weather is 37 degree
Concreting is a bit problem in such temperature because of loss of moisture, after casting may plastic shrinkage crack may happen.

The following solution could give a better result:

1- Try to casting on early morning or at night, don't cast in mid day.

2- Using nitrogen for cooling concrete mixture, nitrogen gas was injected inside the mixer drum for cooling purposes and prevent moisture loss during transportation.

3- Use cold water for mixing.

After casting some consideration might be important:

1- Try to spread water fog in sky direct around the area, to minimize the air temperature, it can be apply with low cost instrument.

2- Apply curing direct after finishing, a few hour after finishing, the surface can be sprayed with water, but avoid from surface damaging.

That is the most important consideration.

All these solutions can cause heavy financial setback to the company.

if you are so knowledgeable on temperature control concrete could u explain tge following
1.temprature of concrete. If so how to check. Have you ever done in a project. Please provide the records
2 in case the temperature on surface is 42deg and the concrete temperature us 28deg. How to proceed with concrete. What r the precautions. Provide the checklist for the same
3.if the surface temperature is 18 degrees what is the temperature we have to maintain for pouring the concrete
Provide the answers with back up calculations and reference code pld

What is the temperature of human body - 37 degree - you can check anywhere.

So does 37 degree temperature going to cause any issue - you may get issue at any temperature, if you dont care about concrete.

We can pump concrete at any temperature.

What happens, when temperature goes up - Dehydration

what is dehydration - water goes out from the concrete in the form of vapors / steam.

We need to care for concrete when temperatures are high to avoid evaporation of water from the concrete.

What happens if water evaporates
- If its in pumping, you will loose workability and chocking of pump might happen.
- If its placed in position - it will loose water, forms shrinkage cracks and in continuation to it, it will loose the strength.

How i can do a concrete at high temperatures

A article is written on it in details, take some efforts to search it at forum.

When we do a concrete at high temperatures, we need to prevent moisture losses from it.

How to do it - there are many ways
- Wrap hessian cloths around Transit mixers drum, Concrete pipeline and keep them wet during concreting.
- On slab area - sprinkle the water to lower the temperatures of formwork and reinforcement steel.
- During concreting - start early curing to placed concrete, cover it with hessian cloth, plastic sheet to prevent moisture loss.

All above lines indicates the only one parameter, do not allow moisture loss from concrete at high temperatures.

You can follow any method or develop your own to prevent losses.
