Precautions / Fire Precautions Measures to be followed
  • Keep all fire-fighting appliances clear from any obstruction.
  • Don’t store anything in fire escape route, staircase and fire refuse area, entrance and exit door should not be locked / bolted.
  • Good housekeeping, periodical maintenance of electrical equipment's.
  • Keep total load below the design capacity.
  • Don’t store inflammable material in large quantity.
  • Put-off all lighted cigarette, bidi, match-stick, candle, lamp or any naked light, before leaving the place.
  • Switch off all electrical equipment's and gas cylinder, when not in use.
  • Don’t store any material up to ceiling height and material should be stored three feet away from electrical points.
  • Don’t use sub-standard material / equipment's and get installed from qualified licensed technician only the fixtures and fittings.
  • Clean gas stove after use.

BOMB THREAT &EVACUATION PLAN
Evacuation Procedures

The floor/area for which, the threat has been received will be evacuated in an orderly and organized manner. Under no circumstances panic is to be allowed. It would be preferable to get the ladies and sick persons or disabled persons including customers / visitors / shopkeepers and their employees / AUTHORISED Staff.

Search Procedures
  1. Search will be carried out by AUTHORIZED trained staff / experts.
  2. If any article lying in any common area, staircases, toilets, services areas unattended, is suspected and it will be carefully searched / handled. Any article, which does not below to the property / common area / services area and is noticed, that will be segregated as it may be BOMB.
  3. Suspected article should not be allowed to be touched / handled by anybody, except the bomb disposal squad.
  4. In case of suspected article is found, Police Authority along with the bomb disposal squad will handle the situation. Remaining floors of the building will be evacuated, as per the above procedure laid.
  5. If no suspected article is found after detailed search, it is safe to presume and inform that the call was HOAX CALL and thereafter normal functioning of the complex could commence.

EARTHQUAKE AND EVACUATION PLAN

As per seismic zoning, the proposed project comes under zone 3 of the seismic map of India. Strengthening of building structures during designing and construction to withstand the impact of high intensity earthquake will be done as a preventive measure.

Action before an earthquake

  1. Keep a torch and a portable transistor radio handy.
  2. Arrange your property in such a way that it is possible to move easily, keep corridor clear of furniture / toys / belongings etc.
  3. Ensure gas cylinder, flower pots etc. are secured to the extent possible. In case of piped gas system close the control valve when not in use.
  4. Place heavy and bulky objects on the floor or on the lowest shelves.
  5. Turn off the electricity, water and gas supply in the property, when not in use.
Actions during an Earthquake (if you are inside the building)
  1. Keep self and others calm
  2. Do not rush to doors or exit.
  3. Never use lifts
  4. Keep well away from windows, mirrors, chimneys and loose articles / furniture
  5. Protect yourself by staying under the rental of an inner door, in the corner of a room, under a table or even under a bed.
Actions after an Earthquake
  1. Keep calm
  2. Switch on the transistor / radio, television and obey any instructions, you hear on the radio / television
  3. Expect after shocks
  4. Do not smoke and do not light matches or use a cigarette lighter.
  5. Do not turn on switches because, there may be gas leaks or short-circuits
  6. If there is a fire, try to put it out. If you cannot, call the fire brigade.
  7. If people are seriously injured, do not move them unless they are in location.
  8. Do not enter badly damaged buildings.
  9. Do not go near damaged structures.

IN CASE OF LPG LEAKAGE:

Immediate Action

  • Take immediate steps to stop LPG leakage/fire and raise alarm simultaneously
  • Stop all operations and ensure closure of all isolation valves
  • As LPG fires develop and spread quickly, so all out efforts should be made to contain the spread of leakage./fire
  • Plant personnel without any specified duties should assemble at the nominated place.
  • All vehicles except those that are required for emergency use should be moved away from the operating area in an orderly manner at pre nominated route
  • Electrical system except the lighting and fire fighting system should be isolated
  • If the feed to the fire cannot be cut off, the fire must be controlled and not extinguished.
  • Starts water spray system in the areas involved in or exposed to fire risks.
  • In case of leakage of LPG without fire and inability to stop the flow, take all precaution to avoid source of ignition.
  • Block all roads in the adjacent area and enlist police support for he purpose, if warranted

Action in the Event of fire:
  • Basic actions will be as detailed above.
  • Extinguishing fire: a small fire at a point of leakage should be extinguished by enveloping with a water spray of a suitable smothering agent such as CO2 or DCP. However, LPG fire should not, unless under exceptional circumstances, be extinguished until the escape of product has been stopped. If escaping vapor cannot be stopped, water should be directed at the point of leakage to assist rapid dispersion. Ensure that static charge is not generated in the LPG vapor clouded- solid jets of water into the cloud should be avoided. Fog nozzles should be used instead.
  • Fire fighting personnel working in or close to un-ignited vapor clouds or close to fire, must be protected continuously by water sprays. Fire fighter should advance towards the fire downwind if possible.
  • In case the only valve that can be used to stop the leakage is surrounded by fire, it may be possible to close it manually. The person attempting the closure should be continuously protected by water sprays, fire entry suit, water jet blanket etc. The person must be equipped with a safety belt and a manned lifeline. In case of rapid increase in decibel level or lifting sound from a relief valve, evacuate the area as there would have been over pressurization.
Leakage from a LPG pipeline or vessel without fire
  1. Cordon off the area around 30 meters radius so that no vehicle or source of ignition approach the area. Attempt to close the control manual valve.
  2. Try to transfer LPG into another vessel if possible.
  3. Avoid getting entrapped in the cloud vapor.
  4. Water sprays should be used to disperse the vapor cloud.
  5. Warn the surrounding areas to put off all naked flames.
